BELIEVE IT. Sigh
One of the world’s most popular manga/anime series is heading to the big screen…in live-action…from a Hollywood studio…
Shonen Jump recently confirmed that a live-action film adaptation of Naruto is moving forward. Lionsgate has secured the distribution rights to the franchise, and commercial director Michael Gracey is set to helm the project.

The film is currently in pre-production, and apparently, series creator Masashi Kishimoto will be involved in some way.
(As you probably know)Â Naruto follows a young man’s journey to become a strong and respected ninja. The series is a worldwide phenomenon, with the manga (which concluded in 2014) selling over 220 million copies worldwide, and the anime series still going strong.Â
Due to Naruto‘s success, we’re not surprised at all that a Hollywood adaptation is happening. However, even with promising upcoming films like Death Note and Ghost in the Shell, anime getting the Hollywood treatment doesn’t usually work out too well.Â
Look no further than Dragon Ball Evolution.Â
Anyway, let’s hope for the best.Â
