Watch Shia Labeouf hitch-hike across Colorado!
[dropcap size=small]S[/dropcap]hia LaBeouf has taken up an new project that involves him hitch-hiking across the country with strangers called #takemeanywhere. The former Disney star is known for his eccentric antics like wearing a bag on his head and writing a memoir from jail to watching a marathon of his movies in a New York theater.
Labeouf tweeted his GPS coordinates and was picked up by three young men from Colorado. The three guys documented their afternoon with Labeouf and uploaded the video to YouTube.
This project isn’t just another crazy LaBeoufian idea. The artistic endeavor is actually commissioned by the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art and London’s Finnish Institute for their MediaLive art festival.
The project is very much artistic in the fact that it’s sole purpose is to explore human interaction, its corruption and its kindness. According to The Boulder News, festival director Nicole Dial-Kay stated
“the point of the project is to examine corruption—the theme of this year’s festival—through the tradition of the American road trip.”
Dial-Kay went on to state that they hope noting “corrupt” befalls the young actor but that they set no limits because they didn’t want to hinder the possibility of something wonderful happening.
