The original’s entire creative team is back too!

At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, 20th Century Fox finally officially confirmed that Deadpool is getting a sequel.

Right before the first film released, it was reported that Deadpool 2 had been greenlit (meaning it was in early stages of development), but this is the first time Fox has come out and said the movie is actually happening.

Deadpool has been a huge success for Fox. The film has grossed over $750 million worldwide, making it not only one of the biggest Fox/Marvel films ever, but also the highest earning R rated film of all time.

Also announced was the return of Ryan Reynolds (duh), but also Tim Miller, who directed the first film.

The writers of the first film, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, are also set to return.

While we still don’t know the film’s release date (even though it may start filming soon), we do know that Cable is definitely going to be in the movie, and we can’t wait to find out who will be playing him.

Deadpool 2 is happening. Get hyped.
