Check out concept art and information on the film’s new characters and locations.Â
New details for the sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service, the surprise hit of 2015, have emerged.Â
Empire Magazine has revealed the film will be called Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Additionally, the magazine revealed new concept art that envisions locations and sequences set to appear in the film.Â
Below is artwork of the destroyed Kingsman HQ, along with the Statesman HQ, the American equivalent of Kingsman, disguised as a whiskey factory. Apparently, after the Kingsman HQ is destroyed, the film will see Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and Merlin (Mark Strong) travel to America, where they meet Statesman’s leader, played by Halle Berry.Â
Also pictured is Poppyland, the HQ for the film’s villain, Poppy, played by Julianne Moore.Â
On the subject of villains, helmer Matthew Vaughn (who also worked on the first film), revealed he was hesitant to direct the sequel because he was worried about creating a great antagonist. He told Empire:Â
“I didn’t know if I wanted to direct this or not. I was worried about the villain. Spy films are only as good as their villains. Then one morning I woke up with the whole storyline in place, and a new villain plot.”
We absolutely loved Kingsman, and we have faith Vaughn will deliver an exciting followup. Plus, Vaughn also hinted at a sequence that will rival the church scene from the original. All the more reason for us to get hyped.Â
Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters on June 16, 2017.Â
