X Gon’ Give It to Ya (again).
Even though he won’t be in theaters until this Friday, the Merc with a Mouth is already gearing up for another movie.
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that FOX has greenlit a Deadpool sequel, even though the first film has yet to release worldwide.
Clearly, FOX has faith that Deadpool will be a hit, as the film is on track to make at least $65 million at the box office this weekend, and so far, reviews have been positive. For example, we absolutely loved it.
Reportedly, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers from the first film, will be scripting the sequel, and although director Tim Miller isn’t confirmed to be the helming the film, he will apparently be involved in some way.
Deadpool’s journey to the big screen has been long and punishing. After many failed attempts, and a certain Origins film, it looked like Deadpool would never truly make it to theaters. But, thanks to the passion and determination of Ryan Reyonlds, the film’s director and writers, as well as leaked test footage, Deadpool is finally here, and now, he’s here to stay.
