Are Superman and Suicide Squad games incoming?
WB Games Montreal, the developer of Batman: Arkham Origins, is currently creating not one, but two new games that will feature DC superheroes.
This news comes way of a recruitment message found on the studio’s website.
“Our world needs more superheroes!” the message says. “We are a growing studio with two AAA projects in development focused on expanding the DC Comics universe in the interactive space.”
While no more official information is available, prior job postings for WB Games Montreal point to these games being brand new, open-world experiences, and for PS4 and Xbox One.
So what could these two games be?
Well, there is always the possibility that one is a sequel to Arkham Origins that takes place before Rocksteady’s Arkham Asylum, but let assume both games are indeed all new.
Earlier this year, images from a supposed Superman game leaked online.
While this image could be doctored, the above model of Superman appears to be professionally created. Are we getting the Arkham treatment for Kal-El?
Another possibility is that one of these games is based on Suicide Squad.
Last year, DC Comics CCO Geoff Johns told Kotaku that a Suicide Squad game is in development.
Johns didn’t offer much more information on the game, but he was excited about the concept of a game “where any of the lead characters can conceivably die and it’s not a stunt.”
So can we expect to see a Superman and Suicide Squad game in coming months?
Maybe, but consider this speculation until an official announcement is made by WB Games Montreal.
