WB And DC Announcement Leaks And Other Rumors

Last week a major leak hit the internet. Usually fans have to wait until they reach the chairs of Hall H to hear what a movie studio has in store for the future, but here is at least one announcement that we won’t have to sleep outside overnight to hear. This year at Comic-Con, Warner Bros. and DC Comics are planning on unveiling their entire release schedule of Justice League related films, however, our eyes got an early peek thanks to an individual by the name of Nikki Finke. The leak states that the upcoming list of releases will be as follows:

  • comicconMay 2016 – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
  • July 2016 – Shazam
  • Christmas 2016 – Sandman
  • May 2017 – Justice League
  • July 2017 – Wonder Woman
  • Christmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern Team Up
  • May 2018 – Man of Steel 2

Now this could all turn out to be nonsense, but an announcement like this seems to be exactly what Warner Bros. and DC need to pull some focus away from the cash crop that is The Avengers. Director/writer extraordinaire and comic book aficionado Kevin Smith claims that the leaked list is legitimate as he as heard similar rumblings. That’s a good enough confirmation for me.

It’s also rumored that 2019 will be the year that Ben Affleck will don the batsuit in a standalone Batman movie. The working title for the film being The Batman.

Another Justice League related rumor is that Jason Momoa of Game of Thrones fame will be playing Aquaman in Batman v Superman. Jason made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live recently and when asked about the casting news he did his best to avoid spilling the beans. I’ll also point out that he didn’t deny such news either. Aside from the release schedule and possible casting updates, Warner Bros. and DC are also slated to show off a teaser for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice at SDCC.

We’ll find out what’s true and what’s not when San Diego Comic-Con takes place July 24th-27th.

Oh and here’s a set picture of Jesse Eisenberg sporting Lex Luthor’s supposed new hairstyle:
