Mid 90s video game graphics? Frustrating controls? I’m sold!

[dropcap size-small]S[/dropcap]tar Wars: Shadows of the Empire certainly isn’t the best Star Wars game ever released and you could surely get into a heated debate with Star Wars fans if the game is canon but one thing is certain, the game is a classic. Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire was originally released back in 1996 for the Nintendo 64 and for PC and has since become a rare item to find in its original condition. Luckily, for the low price of $4.79 you can own a digital copy of the game at GoG.com.

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire was released as a means to explain the events that transpired between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. You play as a mercenary known as Dash Rendar that would remind any Star Wars fan of Han Solo, who also just so happens to own a ship that looks incredibly similar to Han Solo’s Millenium Falcon. Dash sets out with Luke Skywalker to save Princess Leia from the criminal overlord Prince Xizor, so long as Luke promises to pay him a handsome amount when Princess Leia is safe. As you progress through the game’s story you meet other iconic Star Wars characters like Chewie and Lando Calrissian who aid you in your attempts to save Princess Leia.

Does Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire sound like an interesting game to you? Go here to buy your own digital copy!
