[dropcap size=small]M[/dropcap]ost Marvel movies have received the movie rating PG-13. Typical that you can expect violence, curse words, etc. But Deadpool is the first Marvel movie to receive the R-rating. With this rating , there will be material that we have never seen before. Like Wolverine, Deadpool can recover from his injuries with superhuman healing powers. So we can expect to see scenes where he will be shot multiple times, with extreme blood and violence involved. Even Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds says the movie “probably won’t be for the squemish”

During Comic-Con, CinemaBlend’s Eric Eisenberg sat down with Reynolds and Deadpool co-stars Morena Baccarin and Brianna Hildebrand to discuss the movie, specifically about the violence that will be shown.

“He gets pretty fucked up. I mean, I get shot in places that you don’t usually see people get shot in movies. He does thankfully have a rapid healing factor, and a very long digestive track” said Reynolds about Deadpool and the violence in it.

In the comics, Deadpool is known for taking multiple hits against his enemies, knowing that he can regenerate faster than anyone. So unlike any movie that featured the Wolverine, there figure to be more blood and violence, due to Deadpool getting an R-rating. Reynolds explained what an R rated movie is able to give an audience.

“You have unlimited possibility when you’re rated R. You have an unlimited world at your disposal, but you couple that with Deadpool’s meta-sensibility and his ability to break the fourth wall and self-awareness and the sarcasm and, honestly, we felt like pigs in shit. It was truly amazing.”

Deadpool will also star Gina Carano, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrien, Andy Tricoteus and Leslie Uggams. Deadpool explains the story about ex-special forces soldier Wade Wilson (Reynolds) who is terminally-ill and not much time to live. With no other options and trying anything to survive, Wilson accepts an opportunity to participate in an experimental program to become a superhero and change his life. But the experiment doesn’t go as planned and in the end, Wilson’s body is covered with terrible scars. But Wilson was also given the power to regenerate from his injuries faster than anyone.

Deadpool could be a movie that contends with the Avengers for most popular Marvel movie, even though the budget between the two are not even close to the same amount. There should be plenty of explosions and action Hopefully this will be Reynolds rebound hero after a disappointing Green Lantern movie. Check out the Deadpool trailer below!

Deadpool is set to hit theaters on February 16th!
