[dropcap size=small]S[/dropcap]tart clearing space on those hard drives, Halo fans. 343 Industries studio head Dan Ayoub revealed via Xbox Wire that Halo: The Master Chief Collection for Xbox One has reached gold status and will weigh a solid 45 GB.

Ayoub also announced that there will be a day-one patch that weighs 20 GB. The title can currently be pre-ordered and pre-downloaded so the game will be ready to play as soon as it is released through Xbox Live. While the patch is downloading on release day, players will still be able to access Campaign mode while more of the features in multiplayer mode become available as the download is completed.

Ayoub continued:

“Yes, the update is large, but we weren’t about to cut corners to save disc space. This ensures that you are getting every bit of Halo goodness we can fit in. Our work is not done, however, as we continue to tune, tweak and optimize the online experience to ensure a smooth multiplayer launch. This will continue right up until launch day.”

The title will launch worldwide on November 11 with a few exceptions: The game will reach Belgium, Japan, and France on November 12, 13, and 14, respectively.

The Master Chief Collection features remastered versions of Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2, as well the sequels Halo 3 and Halo 4, plus all of the mulitplayer maps released for all four games, including the console and PC downloadable content. However, one thing will be temporarily missing from the fourth installment in the series: the co-op experience Spartan Ops will be made available in December when all ten episodes will be launched at the same time.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be released (nearly) worldwide exclusively for Xbox One on November 11th.
