You get considered for Cable! You get considered for Cable! Everybody gets considered for Cable!

[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]s we all know by now, the role of Cable is one of the most coveted roles in Hollywood right now due to the massive success of Twentieth Century Fox’s Deadpool which was released back in February. Cable is an important role in the upcoming sequel to Deadpool and as such Fox is taking great care to find the perfect actor for the role. Of course, fans and actors have taken to social media to express their opinion on just who should play the role of Deadpool‘s frenemy. That being said, it would appear that Fox wants to bring a well-known actor in hopes of creating a larger audience when Deadpool 2 is released and what better actor could bring in a larger audience than the one and only Liam Neeson?

It is important to point out right now that this is nothing more than a rumor and Liam Neeson, his agent nor Fox have confirmed that Liam Neeson has been approached by Fox for the role of Cable. At first, it seemed that Deadpool‘s director Tim Miller wanted Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) to take on the role of Cable in Deadpool 2. However, studios and directors don’t always see eye to eye, especially when it comes to movies that could make a lot of money. So while Tim Miller may want Kyle Chandler for the role, Fox could always pull out the trump card because they are really the ones calling the shots here.

Could Liam Neeson make a great Cable? I’m sure of it. The man has starred in plenty of action packed movies and action movies that are full of comedy as well (The A-Team anyone?). Not only that, but Liam Neeson is an incredible actor who has shown repeatedly that he is capable of bringing his full talent as an actor when needed. But it begs the question of whether or not we, the fans of the merc with a mouth, want Liam Neeson to be awarded the role of Cable.
