Stand by me.

During the Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV event, numerous announcements relating to the long-awaited game were made.

The biggest news was the official confirmation of the game’s release date. Final Fantasy 15 will be available worldwide on September 30.

A new trailer was shown as well, showcasing the game’s revamped combat, as well as a cover of “Stand by Me,” performed by Florence and the Machine, which will serve as the game’s theme song.

Also, Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV was announced. This brand-new project is a five-part anime series detailing the backstories of the game’s protagonist, Noctis, and his three companions/party members in the game, Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto.

The first episode of the series is available to watch here.

Two special editions of the game were revealed as well: a deluxe edition that includes the game and a new CGI movie titled Kingsglaive, as well as an ultimate collector’s edition, featuring a Play Arts Kai figure of Noctis.

Finally, a new demo of the game was revealed. Platinum Demo — Final Fantasy XV puts the player in the shoe’s of young Noctis, as he traverses a dream landscape with his summon buddy, Carbuncle. Players will be given a taste of the game’s driving mechanics, as well as the combat system, which has been updated since the last demo, Episode Duscae.

Platinum Demo is now available to download from PSN and Xbox Live for free.

It’s been nearly 10 years since Final Fantasy Versus 13 (the game’s original title), was announced, and now, it’s almost surreal knowing the game is very real, and is coming soon. Get hyped.

Final Fantasy XV releases worldwide on September 30 for PS4 and Xbox One.
