Original Spider-Man Trilogy Actress Slams Homecoming, New Spidey Responds

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It’s just that Kristen Dunst’ opinion is wrong.

[dropcap size=small]O[/dropcap]riginal Spider-Man trilogy actress was recently asked how she felt about the new Spider-Man reboot, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and needless to say the actress didn’t exactly have the nicest response in regards to the film. When interviewed Kristen Dunst said, “We made the best ones, so who cares? I’m like, ‘You make it all you want.’ They’re just milking that cow for money. It’s so obvious. You know what I mean?” To be fair, Marvel/Disney/Sony are all entertainment companies and in order for a film like this to be produced, they do need to generate a profit. At the same time, however, Marvel has been taking steps to expand its Marvel Cinematic Universe for some time now and it would be ludicrous for them to not introduce everyone’s favorite web-slinging hero.

“Hello? Kristen Dunst? Yeah, this is Tom Holland. Just wanted to let you know that from a comic book and cinematic point of view you didn’t make ‘the best ones’ Even the Amazing Spider-Man was called amazing for a reason.”

While Kristen Dunst’s comment can be seen as arrogant, even scathing, British actor Tom Holland took the high road in his response.

“You know, she’s entitled to her own opinion and I’m not one to judge at all. I definitely am not doing this movie for the money. I mean, it’s a job that I think anyone would do regardless of what you were getting paid, you know? All I know is I had the greatest time on this movie and I absolutely loved it and, you know, if she doesn’t want to go and see it, I don’t really care. I don’t dislike her in any way for what she said and she’s entitled to her own opinion, so it’s all cool.”

Overall, while the original Spider-Man is in some ways partially the reason we now have the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man: Homecoming has been a massive hit with both fans and critics alike. Sure, the film doesn’t necessarily completely follow the comics to their core, but it still stays true to Spider-Man’s story which is something the original Spider-Man trilogy did not. Not only that but unlike the original films we get to see Spidey in multiple films outside of his own story arc, something the original Spider-Man never did. So stick that in your juice box and suck it, Kristen.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
