Sons of Anarchy Spinoff ‘Mayans’ Casts Edward James Olmos

The first major casting for the ‘Mayans MC’ has been announced!

[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]fter Sons of Anarchy ended in 2014, there were questions to whether the show would get a spinoff show to (in a way) keep Sons of Anarchy going. In November of 2016, director Kurt Sutter announced that Mayans MC will be a spinoff show from Sons of Anarchy and will be in production March 2017.

The plot centers around EZ Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali/Mexi border who struggles with his desire for vengeance against the cartel, and his need for respect from the women he loves.

Earlier this week, Setter announced that Edward James Olmos is set to play Felipe Reyes, the family’s once strong patriarch, who after years of being crushed by bullets and hard labor, struggles to keep his past buried and lead his sons down a lawful, righteous path.
